A process that occurs unexpectedly suddenly and poses a threat to an individual's life or integrity of life is defined as a "health emergency". In the first and emergency services, interventions are made as quickly as possible to protect the patients in this situation from further disability and injuries.

At Maltepe University Faculty of Medicine Hospitals Emergency Service; There are doctors who are experts in their fields and experienced nurses and specialist health personnel in the field of first aid in the emergency department. Thanks to the dynamic and at the same time experienced expert staff, all emergency cases are intervened and serviced 24/7 with a multidisciplinary service approach.

Patients who apply to the emergency department during daylight hours are evaluated with support from all branches in Maltepe University Medical Faculty Hospitals. At night, it is supported by specialist doctors who are on duty in their own units within the framework of a wide range of branches. In case of need, the doctors on duty respond to the consultation as soon as possible.

Equipped with advanced technology medical devices, Emergency Service units include surgical and internal resuscitation, examination and emergency response rooms. The first treatment and observations of patients who come to the emergency department are carried out in a modern hospital environment with monitors located right at the bedside and large and fully monitored observation rooms.

There is a location that will ensure the integrity and coordinated operation of these units between the emergency service and units such as emergency operating rooms, general intensive care, pediatric intensive care, coronary intensive care, radiology and endoscopy, in order to provide the necessary intervention to the patients in need of first and emergency aid as quickly as possible.
